Fully On-Premises Power BI

We represent Company in Egypt, overseeing 25 subsidiaries and managing highly sensitive national infrastructure data. Our operations support millions of citizens daily.

We have built a centralized data warehouse and advanced dashboards for internal decision-making. We now want to integrate these dashboards into our internal systems.

However, we have strict requirements:

  • No public or cloud-based services at all.

  • Fully on-premises deployment only, fully managed and secured internally.

Could you please advise on:
1️⃣ Available on-premises-only deployment options (e.g., Power BI Report Server).
2️⃣ Best way to embed dashboards securely in internal systems.
3️⃣ Licensing and technical requirements for fully local deployments.

Hi @salmaashraf ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.

The suitable solution for your scenario is Power BI Report Server, which allows you to deploy, manage, and consume Power BI reports entirely within your internal network without any dependency on cloud services.

Please check below features of Power BI report server.

1. It Runs on Windows Server within your organizational network.

2. Supports .pbix files created using Power BI Desktop for Report Server.

3. Includes paginated reports (.rdl) and Excel (.xlsx) integration.

4. SQL Server Agent can be used for scheduled data refreshes.

Please refer Microsoft official documents and community threads.

Given your requirements you will want to work with a Microsoft partner near you.  This forum is not the right place for legally binding advice.
