I've seen several answers concerning this issue, but I'm still not understanding.
In August 2019, I created a Power BI file and uploaded it to the server. It has worked since then, until late January (the refresh history doesn't go that far back), and whenever I used the older desktop version, it works fine.
Due to the size of the data, I have various SQL Server-based queries in my PBIX; let's call them base tables. From there, I create queries that combine multiple bits of data from those base tables and use them for the visuals. The queries would be rather complex if I did them through SQL, and the other issue I have is that once I leave, other users do not have the level of knowledge to pull the data. Therefore, they would use the base tables for new visuals.
All of the queries come from the same data source, so I do not understand this error. If I cannot combine multiple SQL Server-based tables, then there is a problem. When I updated my desktop to February, I can replicate this error.
If there was an answer to this which matches this scenario, can someone point me to it? I saw the example from the Ken Puls' blog, but if I read it right, I would create the 'base' tables and not conduct any merges ...
If that's the case, I'll update everything in the PBIX; I don't understand why it worked, initially, and now it fails.
Thank you
