Formatting data in a Matrix Viz

I have this Matrix:

This is my first time here. I'd sure appreciate some advice on how to format it so that the years are in the first column and the Months are in the second so that I can sort the years in descending order. Right now they are in ascending order and when I try to change them, the months are in descending order as well. 

I'd also like the year totals to be at the bottom of each year's data.

Hi, @jazzzbo 

Try follow steps to sort fields in matrix:

1) convert matrix to a table

2) click the 'Year' column to sort 'Year' in descending order, then shift +click the 'Month' column to sort 'Month' in ascending order

3)convert the table visual to matrix visual

The result will show as below:

Please check the below picture, and please try to click the red areas.

You can easily find a way how to sort as per your demand, and you can also configure the Matrix structure to a Stepped layout structure.
