Formatting a Matrix table

I have created a matrix table with multiple values. I have selected the 'Show on rows' option as this is how I want the chart to look.

I want to highlight one of the rows so I have selected a background colour under the field formatting menu. Is it possible to also apply the backgroud colour to the name of the value?

I've tried a range of selections but can't seem to get it to apply.

Below is a simple example of a table with the issue.

I just ran into this same issue.

I posted an idea here -- please vote it up.

Seems like an obvious/simple fix...something the Power BI devs forgot to implement, when they recently added the "Show on rows" functionality.

Hi @PaulCo,

Please change the Matrix Style from "Default" to any other type, e.g. None

Then, you can set the background color for row headers to be the same one as value's background.

I want to set the colour of the row headers to only be the same on certain rows. If I follow your instructions then it colours all of the row headers.

I notice that when I deselect the "Show on Rows" option it correctly colours the row (now column) headers the same as the rows (now columns)  but when I select the "Show on Rows" option, the row headers go back to default while the rows themselves stay coloured..

I'm not sure if this can be done as I need it.

Thanks

Hi @PaulCo,

Based on my test, it is not able to color one specific row, including values and row headers.

under field formatting, turn on "Apply To Header" and see if that works.

I tried that but it did not work.

Thanks

Then seems like we are at dead end. 😞
