Forecasting and trendline

Hi All,

I am using the forecast option on my sales values but when I add the trend line it doesn't extend to the forecasted area, how can I do that? Also from a logical point of view shouldn't the forecasted area be elevated to match the trend line?

Please see attached pic.

Many thanks,

Miriam

Glad it was helpful but I am not aware of the reason why the trend does not extend to forecast. I will update this question whenever I find something for sure.

The trend line does not extend beyond the actual data. It looks like your forecast follows the actual pattern but please check the seasonality factor in your Forecast settings how far back you have taken and also any points ignored.

Thanks, the whole data history is 1 year which I've put as seasonality, not sure what is the recommended seasonality for such a case? I haven't ignored any points.

      Thanks,
      Miriam

    Hi MiriamM

What’s your data for the trend line ? What is the effect you want to achieve? Could you provide your sample , maybe this will help us better deal with the problem .

    Best Regards
