I am relatively to maps on Power BI, and am trying to get the flow map going.
My data is based on states (VIC, NSW, NT, etc) in Australia.
The problem I have is with logistics data being transmitted within state.
For shipments from VIC to NSW happen, the flow map works alright. When there is shipments happening from VIC to VIC (i.e., different places within VIC state.), the flow map cannot represent it. It says "The visualization is incomplete due to self link: VIC".
I have locations of places within VIC by Postcodes, but if I map them by Postcode the map looks crowded.
I simply want lines between states with tooltip giving the count of shipments, and for within each state, I would like to get a circle with total number of shipments in tooltip.
Hi @Anonymous ,
1 I checked some information and it seems that to display bubbles for self-linked streams. If the start and end points are the same, it still doesn't show lines, but if the bubble visualization is turned on, we can show a circle on the map.( https://weiweicui.github.io/PowerBI-Flowmap/ )
2 For the total number. you can create a measure which likes the follwoing, and drag it to the Tooltips.
shipments =
CALCULATE(
SUM( 'Table'[values] ),
FILTER( ALL( 'Table' ), [origin] = MAX( 'Table'[origin] ) )
)
Best Regards
