First value based on slicer date

Dear Friends,

I'm looking for a simple way to select a value based on the slicer date.

In essence, I aim to determine the stock value associated with a particular date when I use the slicer to make a selection.

Do you know how I can do it? I tried the following but can't find my error.

FirstValueSelected =
VAR SelectedDate = SELECTEDVALUE('DateTable'[DateColumn])
RETURN
MINX(
FILTER('YourDataTable', 'DateTable'[DateColumn] = SelectedDate),
'YourDataTable'[YourValueColumn]
)

Thank you

@Onclevini Is the slicer a range slicer or some other kind of slicer?

Sorry, having trouble following, can you post sample data as text and expected output?
Not really enough information to go on, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882

Also, please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.

DAX For Humans

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

Dear all and dear @Greg_Deckler ,

Thanks for your feedback.

I'm trying to compare 2 stocks based on the time period. I want to see the % difference over time but the starting point must starts at 0.

I do a simple calculation: Stock value of the day / Stock value at the beginnnig of the period - 1.

Ex: Apple vs Nasdaq 100

The difficulty is to define the Stock value at the beginnnig of the period.

I hope I'm a bit clearer with the explaination.
