Hi,
I have three fields 'Title', 'Tags' and 'Description'. I have would like to create a single search box or slicer that will filter the results based on keywords, this is pretty straight forward. What I would actually like is something a little more sophisticated, that allows the ability to selectively choose which fields are used in the search, so only searching Title or Tag or Tag and Description for example.
Basically something that would work like this, the check boxes could be a Horizontal Slicer from a separate table perhaps?
I've attempted various routes, but can't calculate a column based on filtered results. In my DAX below I created a second table (SelectionFilterTable) that contains Title, Tags and Description as values to be filtered by a Slicer.
FilteredTable =
SELECTCOLUMNS (
'DataTable',
"TitleSearch",
IF (
COUNTROWS (
FILTER ( SelectionFilterTable, SelectionFilterTable[Selection] = "Title" )
) > 0,
'DataTable'[Title],
'DataTable'[BlankColumn]
)
)
Is this even possible without coding a new visual in python for example?
Thanks in advance, K
Hi @kfielding ,
Is your issue solved now?

There is an existing Text search visual in the marketplace that has this functionality. Performance is impacted by the cardinality of the columns in your data model.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply, all the visuals I see only accept one field input. Can you identify the one that would accept multiple fields and allow you to deselect a particular field from the search like I requested in my original post.
Thanks,
K
