I want to clean up some slicers in one on my power bi reports. i am comparing AVG fuel milage by MTD, YTD and also summer and winter. I went into transform data and filtered out by certain months if OCT-MAR then Winter, if APR-SEPT then summer. So i have two extra slicers to display summer avg mpg and winter avg mpg. My colums have total miles, total gallons, month, and year all broken out. so i am wondering that based off the year slicer i have selected is there a dax formula to just give me an average for OCT-MAR and then APR-SEPT
Hey @jbenson ,
if I got it right, then you have a column that already mentions if it's winter or summer.
You can use that to calculate the average:
Average Winter =
CALCULATE(
AVERAGE( myTable[value] ),
myTable[Season] = "Winter"
)
I think i need divide the sum of the total gallons by the sum of the total miles for just winter. if i do the calculate average i don't come up with the correct value
