Hi,
I have data upload done as a Direct query in a PBI report and there is a filter on the Page called e.g Port. This column Port has many fields showing in the table, but when it has been used as a filter on the visual page it shows only limited fields and not all. That means some of the fields have been kept hidden or something, which i can't find out. Secondly, i have been asked to stop couple of fields to be used by the end user on the PBI workspace etc in the future on the same filter of Port once published on the PBI service; however, i can't find those options/fields in the filter dropdown.
This shows that something with this filter has been done at the background, which i am unable to find out.
Can someone please help me in finding out what the problem exactly is here or am i missing on something?
Thanks
Sam

Hi @samoberoi ,
Please try to create a field parameter with table field, add a slicer visual with this parameter, create bookmark to control hide or show the fileds.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for trying to help me out on this. I found those hidden filters and is sorted out now. I have got another question related to the same subject. Is there any way that some of the options/fields from the filter called e.g Port can be taken off or hidden from the end user when published on Power BI service. As an example, if there are 5 fields like A, B, C, D, E in the column/filter called Port, i would like to hide C & D from the end user and show them only A, B & E only.
Thanks

Hi @samoberoi ,
Here are some steps to investigate why some options might be missing from your 'Port' filter:
1. Check Data Model Integrity:
- Ensure that all distinct values in the 'Port' column are present in the data model.
2. Verify Row-Level Security (RLS):
- If RLS is applied, it could restrict the data and hence the filter options visible to different users.
3. Confirm Data Refresh:
- Make sure the dataset has been refreshed after any changes to the data source to reflect the latest data.
4. Examine Slicer Configuration:
- If you are using a slicer for filtering, check if it's configured to display all items.
5. Review Permissions:
- Ensure that the user has the necessary permissions to see all data in the dataset.
6. Inspect Data Transformations:
- Look into the Power Query editor to see if any transformation steps are filtering out certain values.

Hello @samoberoi ,
check if there's any step in power query that eleminated these fields.
