Filter not applying to all visuals in dashboard

Hi All - hoping you can help. 

I have built the below relationship. I've then added 'Filter_Year' as a filter on each visual on my dashboard, but when I select a year the filter only applies to visuals containing values from 'Table-Compliance' and not 'Table_Learning'. I also have a filter for name which applies successfully to both 'Table_Compliance' and 'Table_Learning'. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious...

Hi,

These are the steps/best practises you should follow:

1. Avoid Many to Many relationships.  In any case, 99% of the time you do not need a many to many relationship.
2. On each of the 3 data tables, create a Date column, if you do not already have one.  If you only have the Year column on each table, create a date column using the DATE function.  Let the Month and Date be 1
3. Create a Calendar Table and extract the Year in a calculated column with the help of the Year function.
4. Create a relationship from the Date column of each of the 3 Tables to the Date column the Calendar Table
5. For slicing any visual by a time dimension such as Year/Month/Date, drag the field from the Calendar Table.
