Hi,
I have a question regarding the managing roles in PowerBI desktop. I was trying to create Roles but it says that "Failed to resolve name "region". It is not a valid table, variable or function name". But it is. I've tried to re-write it with Capital letter but it is not working, regardless of what I do.
Can someone help me out? 🙂
Thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
Change the brackets from ( ) to [ ]
Power BI requires [ ] when referring to columns.
Also, make sure to take the time required to learn about Roles and RLS given its critical importance in data governance (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/enterprise/service-admin-rls#define-roles-and-rules-in-po...).
Hopefully this helps 🙂
Theo

Hi Theo,
Nice name, btw 😁
I thought I already did that and it wasn't working, but now that I've tried it again, it works, no errors anymore.
Thank you so much,
Teo
@champagneteo haha - you're a legend. Is your name Teo? A lot of old friends nicknamed me Teo (apparently, adding the "h" just made it far too long for them to say hehe)!
Have a blessed day my friend.
