For some reason when I am working on the file I can pre-set the filters but in the web view after it's published they are not saved. Why might this be?

Hi @chillpill ,
You are putting filter on Team and in web view looking the slicer Week of, there you would see the team name, but when u select those 2 team, there will be infact no data, as filter should be working on team field.
So as @Anonymous suggest, instead of putting filter on Team keep filter on week of slicer visual or on page itself as the need may be.
Hope it helps.
Hi @chillpill
If I understand correctly, you are trying to influence the value in Slicer via Filters.
The following method may help you.
Check the Slicer visualization to filter in Filters on this visual

Or you can set it up in Filters on this page.
This setting affects other visualizations in this Page that have this field.

I see - so the filter on the Team slicer when saved within the file before publishing will affect other slicers/tables/matrices using the same field if they are on the same page/tab? I am using a lot of views/bookmarks on the same tab so I wonder if that has something to do with it?
