When trying to use the Filled Map visualisation power bi is not recognising all two digit ISO country codes.
A simple test to replicate this would be to use an execl sheet with 2 columns as a datasource. Column 1 the ISO county codes GB, FR and HU and Column 2 some random numeric values.
Use the Execl sheet data with with the filled map visualisation and select both columns as your fields.
You will notice that GB(Great Britain), FR(France) display properly but HU(Hungary) does not display on the map.
Not sure if this is a bug or by design? If anyone could advise that would be much appreciated?
Hi @digitalphil,
Based on my test, if use the short name of country like "GB", "FR","HU" in map visual, sometimes the region cannot be recognized exactly and be highlighted in the map. Also, if we don't select proper data category for regional column, the region won't be recognized correctly either.
So, in your scenario, I would suggest use full country name (Great Britain, France, Hungary) as the location field. And set the data category to Country/region.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Yuliana Gu
