Hello!
I want to add a big question mark icon that will link to a help file on our local network. We are using Report Server May 2020 (so everything is On-Prem).
I have successfully created a file URL by creating a table (1 column/1 row) with the value file://Server/Folder/File.ext and displaying it in a table visual. This works great but I wanted more control over the presentation and as far as I know there is no way to customize the URL icon.
Since I only have one static URL, I tried to do the same thing in a Button, using the Web URL Action but it will not accept the file:// syntax.
Is there a way to make it work in a Button Action or is it simply unsupported?
Any other work around? My only idea at the moment is to add a column to my table and basically display "Help: <Ugly File Icon>"
Thanks!

Hi , @JeanMartinL
The local file URL is not equivalent to the web URL.
Although you may be able to access the path through a browser , but after testing, the local file URL on button action is not supported.
You may take a try to convert local path ( file:// .......) to url absolute Path ( http: // ....).
For your requirement, you could post your new idea in Power BI ideas and make this feature coming sooner.

Also, it seems like the file URL only works in IE. It doesn't do anything in Chrome.
I'm starting to think that I might need to host my files on a webserver just to make everything work, even though it seems like an unnecessary step.
