Hi all
I am using Power BI desktop to make dashboards with the data source being SharePoint online list.
I have sucsessfully made three dashboards and in their filter query I have converted columns to field value as text - for example the people columns in the sharepoint list.
Today however I have attempted to make a new dashboard from a new list. After connecting the data source and then viewing the filter query the field value as text column is not there, nor are any of the other default columns that would usual appear.
I have tried to trouble shoot by searching the forum and internet to no avail.
I also tried to use data connections I have sucsessfully used prior, yet they yeild the same rusult.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thank you
Solved! Go to Solution.
Thank you both for your replies, I appreciate your time and expertise.
I have found the issue that caused the field value as text column not to load when adding the data source from SharePoint Online List.
I had mistakenly selected implementation 2.0 instead of 1.0
With 1.0 selected all the default columns have returned including FVAT
Thank you again.

Hi @SafetyUser
can you check the actual data source (sharepoint list)?? whether you have proper data present which you trying to add in Power bi..
If everything is proper
open you existing report where you have just change the column filed to text and try to refresh that..
if refresh is successful then you dont have to change anything or other wise you have to cancel your last query ( change to text field).
I hope this might solve your issue!
Hello @SafetyUser
As you mentioned above some of your default columns are not loaded you can follow the below steps for verification
1. Verify the column exists and is visible.
2. Ensure filters, permissions, and refreshes are properly configured.
3. Check for unsupported features or custom transformations.
By going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with missing fields
Thanks & Regards
