Hi Everyone,
Please help me with this. I want to fetch data from an URL which is password protected(Basic authentication) into Power BI Desktop.
The URL have 3 files (which are hyperlinked), that means once you click on, it will download the file in csv format.
Now how to directly fetch the csv files from that url into Power BI insted of downloading those file and then loading it into BI Desktop ?
Please response to this query as it will help me alot.If anything need more clarity, please let me know.
Thanks
Shubs
Hi @v-jiascu-msft,
Yes, I have tried it but it is not connecting..Showing error.
The url has only 3 hyperlinks in it which when clicked download the csv file respectively. But I want to load those csv directly into Power BI.But presently not able to do so.
Hi @Anonymous,
Since you have 3 hyperlinks, I would suggest you retrieve one file with one link a time. (It's possible to copy the download link). Please give it a try.
Best Regards,
Dale
Hi @v-jiascu-msft,
Sorry, as the link is confedential so I cant provide you that. But let me explain it in some more detail.
One URL(Password Protected) consist of 3 csv files(which are hyperlinked,ie, downloadable when clicked). Power BI is not conserding them as hyperlink. It is showing error if i choose HTML page when setting up web connector and if i choose csv rather than html so it just display the name of those 3 hyperlinks in 3 columns.
Thanks

Hi @v-jiascu-msft,
I got this and it is working. But that will again a manual process.Like I have to choose every hyperlink one by one.And these link will increase with time as every week data will be refreshed and will generate a new hyperlink there.
Is there any way to automate it or get all the links data in one go ?
Thanks
Shubs
