Hello All - new memeber of the PowerBi Community here.
I have had an internal service error from a refresh fail: - and this message came up:
<ccon>Expression.Error: The column 'Column5' of the table wasn't found.. Column5. </ccon>. The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface. Table: Cards Coordinated
Any help resolving this will be appreciated
Solved! Go to Solution.
pls check if the column name has been changed in the data source.
and check the steps in the PQ to see which step fails.

Hi Mark,
This type of error appears when the column5 is missing from the dataset.
Its worth checking in the Power query and or also the original source for Column5, some times in the source the column might have been deleted or renamed which will cause this type of error while refreshing.
or sometimes in the PBI dataset column5 have been deleted.
Please mark this as a solution if it helps to resolve your issue. and also please give kudos 🙂
Thanks for the reply from @ryan_mayu and @AnushaSri , please allow me to provide another insight:
Hi @Mark3308 ,
Generally speaking, this error occurs because the column name has been changed or deleted, causing Power Query to use a column name that no longer exists.
Power Query caches the table structure in the query steps, and when the data source changes, they do not automatically sync. Usually, this problem occurs when Power Query uses a column name that no longer exists if the data source table is updated in previous query steps or the cached structure is manually modified. You need to check these query steps and cached structures to manually fix the mismatched fields.
You can also try going to ‘Data Source Settings’ and clearing all permissions - then reload this source and make all changes again.
You can also check the link below where users with similar issues refreshed the query and the table refresh solved the issue:
