[Expression.Error] Invalid Region

I cannot signin to Power BI Desktop. I am trying to open a .pbit file and when trying to sign in, it gives an error message stating '[Expression.Error] Invalid Region'. What is causing this error and how do we resolve it?

Hi  @Mehta_Darsh ,

Have you tried the above methdos provided by rajendraongole1?
Please recreate the .PBIT file with the same settings to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, configurations can become corrupted.

Hey @v-yangliu-msft
I tried the solutions provided by Rajendraongole1, but the issue still persists. However, I am able to work with other templates from the same platform. It seems, that the template is causing the issue. I have reached out to the development team which is providing the template for the platform.

Best,

Hi @Mehta_Darsh - check that your Power BI account is linked to the correct region. You can check your region in the Power BI Service by going to Settings > Region and verifying that it matches the location you're trying to connect to.

Go to Control Panel > Region (or Settings > Time & Language > Region in Windows 10/11) and check your Region and Regional Format. Make sure it’s set to the correct region that matches the Power BI account you're trying to sign in to.

If you're trying to access data that is region-locked, try accessing it from a machine that is aligned with the appropriate region. If this is an organizational issue, you may need to contact your admin to align the region settings in your Power BI account.

Try clearing the cache by closing Power BI Desktop, and then navigating to %localappdata%\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop and deleting the cache folder or any temporary files. After that, restart Power BI Desktop and attempt to sign in again.

Please check the above troubleshooting approaches, lets see.

Hey @rajendraongole1, it seems like there is an issue with the template I am trying to open. I can open other template from the same platform, so it seems like there is some security feature which is not allowing me to sign in.
