I know you can hide filters for fields used in the grid when exporting data to CSV.
But what about hiding a filter on the main data table. I have a source getting files from a folder with daily instances. They pick the file itself from the filter --several other filters involved based on target, range of categories etc. Those others I can hide but not the filter on the filename. I have even tried adding the filename filter to the (visual ) table exporting from with the hide turned on and I still get
Applied filters: Source.Name is xxxxx_07_30_1100.CSV

It would be really helpful if the Export visible layout actually exported only the items in the visual layout in the grid.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Power BI does not allow hiding query-level filters like your filename filter from appearing in the exported CSV’s “Applied filters” section even if the field is hidden in the visual.
To avoid this, filter files before loading them in Power Query or use parameters to control file selection outside the report filters, since currently there’s no built-in way to exclude those filters from export.

Somehow I feel restating my "why isn't this an option" into a "this currently is not an option" isn't a solution.
Is there a better area to bring up suggestions on improving how the visual to export data works?
