Hello,
I am trying to export a whole table (as I see it in Data view) into an Excel file. Is there a direct way or I need to "create" the same table as an output in the Report view?
Thank you,

Hi @Tasos,
There are some ways to export Power BI Desktop data in Excel.
1.You can copy the entire table, including all DAX calculated columns, very easily and paste it on a destination like Excel. This way is good for small volume of data.
Go to Date View and select the table you want to export, select Copy Table and then paste it in Excel.
2.You need to find Power BI Desktop local port number from Power BI Desktop temp directory. Then connect to Power BI Desktop Model from Excel.
For the detail steps, you could refer to the links below.
Please note that if you have millions of rows of data in your Power BI Desktop then you’ll be able to load 1,048,576 rows which is maximum number of rows limitation on Excel.
Best Regards,
Cherry

Hello @v-piga-msft,
I do not see this option to "Copy table" when I perform the steps you suggested. Is this because I am using an ODBC connection to a database?
I tried copying the table in Power Query, but I only get the first 1000 rows.
Thanks.
It could be worth mentioning that the Copy Table option respects whatever filter you have applied to the table in the data view, so that can be used to reduce the amount of data that is exported.
@v-piga-msft, is there a way to do this when my source is Direct Query from a SQL database veiw in AWS ? I don't have a table view in PowerBI, so I can't use the easy copy/paste method. And my query editor doesn't show me rows of data, just the tables in my SQL view.
Thank you,
Carly
Hello @v-piga-msft,
Thank you very much for your help. I guess it was way easier than I could had thought (and to make it even worse, I had searched for something like that).
