Export data from Power BI to Excel with one click, without using Power Automate

I want to export data to Excel with one click in Power BI Desktop. I don’t want to use Power Automate. Is there any option available? Please provide a solution, as I am a beginner in Power BI

List of ideas:

To do this, there must be some predefined process to create such a file.

1. Someone uploads such a file to Sharepoint, and then you put a link to it as a button and the end user can download it (minus: you can't customize and RLS doesn't work, and also after clicking the link a new page opens).

2. Power Automate - RLS works, the user can customize the view, after clicking it doesn't open a new page, only the file download process is started in the background.

3. Export data - RLS works, the user can customize the view, you have to click twice to start the download. After clicking it doesn't open a new page.

Hi @Anonymous ,

The simplest solution is to use the Export data function for the visualization. You need to prepare the visualization in such a way that the user can adjust its output, and then enable export data in the Header Icon (visualization settings).

Field Parameters and Personalize Visuals can be used to allow the user to customize the visualization - this way each user will be able to add the measures or dimensions they need.

Thank for the reply @lkalawski
I understand this, but the client wants to click a single button, and it should export the table data to Excel. Is this possible without using Power Automate?

Hi Thank for the reply @lkalawski
Can you Please provide a detailed explanation with screenshots?

@Anonymous ,

As I mentioned, each visualization has an option to export data to csv or Excel files. This is enabled by default - you have to hover over the visualization, click three steps and click Export Data. The data used in the visualization will be generated.

This is a predefined option, which means that you build a visualization and the end user can only download the data that you set.

A better option is to create Field Parameters (https://www.sqlbi.com/articles/fields-parameters-in-power-bi/), which will allow you to dynamically adjust what is in the visualization - the end user can change the dimensions and measures thanks to this.
