I need help to understand how we can have an export data button in powerbi visuals may be for a table in the report to perform same as export data button (...) more options does
I don't want t o use power Automate also, as it may require access permission for share point location for all users. I want to download the data on local machine. Please help
Hi @ArchanaKu,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
At the moment, Power BI does not support adding a custom button inside a report visual (like a table or matrix) that can trigger the same "Export data" action as the built-in “...” menu. The native export functionality available via the visual’s more options menu remains the primary way to export data to a CSV or Excel file directly to a user’s local machine. As @rohit1991 and @danextian have already responded to your query, kindly go through their responses and check if they answer your query.
I would also take a moment to thank @rohit1991 and @danextian, for actively participating in the community forum and for the solutions you’ve been sharing in the community forum. Your contributions make a real difference.
If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know.
Best Regards,
Hammad.

Hi @ArchanaKu ,
Power BI does not support a custom “Export Data” button natively inside a visual. The standard way to export data is to use the built-in “...” (More Options) → “Export data” feature on visuals like tables and matrices.
Options available:
Standard Export: Right-click the visual or use the “...” menu on the visual and select “Export data.” This will download a CSV or Excel file to your local machine.
No-code custom button: There is no native Power BI button to trigger data export directly from a report without using Power Automate or R scripts.
Visual-level Export: You can enable/disable export in the visual’s settings (Format pane → Visual header → Export data).
Docs: Export data from Power BI visuals
Hi @ArchanaKu
I dont think there is a way to replicate the “Export data” functionality from the visual header inside a report visual without using Power Automate or a custom solution (perhaps with a help from a third-party vendor). If Power Automate isn’t an option, then you're limited to using the built-in export options already available in Power BI.
