Exclude vs Visual Filters

Hi All,

Curious to know the difference and when to use which:

-   In a table viz, Right click a value in country e.g. Canada and "Exclude"

-   Go to Visual Filters section and select All except Canada from Country

(Not urgent)

Regards,

Karuna

@Anonymous,

As you mentioned,

  1. You may need to exclude values directly from the visuals because you don’t want to focus on them. It’s often useful to focus on a specific set of values. You can't edit the filter in a visual level filter once it's applied. You can either remove or exclude/include new values.
  2. The visual level filter has three different options - Basic, Advanced & Top/bottom. You can filter a set of values using Advanced filtering and edit whenever you want.

Conclusion:

Exclude/Include is a filter option with basic operations. It doesn't support measures. The visual level filter holds many options including for measures such as less than, greater than.
