The columns are ordered in Power Query (note the forth column "MÊS DATA"):
The preview in Excel looks good ("MÊS DATA" is still the forth column):
After hitting "Insert Table", I get this:
The "MÊS DATA" column jumped to AD instead of D.
It is not the only column who moved around, I just used it as an example.
Any idea what's the problem here?
Hi @leandro_santos ,
According to your description and the screenshot provided, you are getting the data from or to the power bi dataset in Excel, I checked the official documentation on this and it mentions that it may not be possible to preserve the names and order of the columns in the Power BI visual object when exporting the data from the power bi dataset to Excel.
Regarding an alternative to this issue, you can manually adjust the column order after inserting the table in Excel. While this is not an automated solution, it allows you to quickly reorganize columns as needed for immediate analysis. You can also use Power Query in Excel to reimport data from Power BI, ensuring that you explicitly set the column order in the Power Query editor before loading the column order into the Excel worksheet. This method provides more control over the data transformation process, including maintaining the column order.
