Excel query PowerBI data model

Hi there,

While PowerBI is great, many of our end users are old school Excel lovers and want to weekly delivery of a dashboard in their inbox. What I am currently doing is:

  1. exporting a odc from web service
  2. creating a tabular pivot off that
  3. copying the pivot data and saving it as a csv
  4. importing that csv into another workbook via power query which contains my Excel dashboard

All of these steps seem super redundant and I am curious if there is a 'cleaner' way. Ideally I would like a prebuilt Excel dash that link with / replicate my powerbi data model. Is this possible?

I’m not sure if this is what you are after, but you can use power bi datasets as a source for excel:

Connect to dataset from Excel
