Excel Source to Query SQL database

Hi,

Newish to Powerbi, I've used WEBI SAP BI and can use an Inlist query. What is the equivalent in PowerBI?

The question is?

There is an Excel Table with around 400 PO (Purchase Orders, PO ) in a column which I would like to use to query a SQL database with around 10,000,000 entries.

The spreadsheet is manually edited with a PO, and would like to use these PO's t oquery the SQL Database.

What is the best method to acheive this, obvioulsy I could use merge, however that requires loading the full 10m entries.

Any suggestions and help greatly appreciated.

Regards

Glyn

Hi @jsit Try these please

  • Load Excel Table: Import the PO list into Power BI.
  • Native SQL Query: Use a native SQL query with an IN clause to filter data at the source.
  • Dynamic Query: Construct the query using Power Query M functions to pass Excel POs dynamically.
  • Optimize: Ensure query folding and indexing on the PO column for better performance.
If this post helped please do give a kudos and accept this as a solution
    Thanks In Advance
