Hello,
I am trying to import formated excel data in Power BI but Power BI uanble me to preseve the data formatting from excel. Below are couple of example for formatting i like to preserve in Power BI. Can anyone help me how to achieve this.
Thank You!
Hi @npanchal ,
It's not supported to keep the format when loading data from excel to Power BI.
The first screenshot is similar to Matrix but does it does not support merging cells.
Not very clear about the second screenshot. Do you want to keep the drop-down arrows? What do these drop-down arrows do?
Best Regards,
Jay
Hey @npanchal ,
unfortunately, you can't import a format from an Excel file, you only import data.
This means you have to recreate the "formatting".
From the samples you provided, I would start with the Matrix visual, next try the inforiver custom visual.
If you are backed by Premium licensing, either Premium Per Capacity or Premium Per User you also might try to use Paginated Reports.
Hopefully, this provides some new ideas on how to tackle your challenge.
If not, consider creating pbix files using Power BI Desktop that contain sample data, after you have imported data from the Excel file you want to "mimick". Upload the pbix to onedrive or dropbox and share the link.
Regards,
Tom
