Hi
I am trying to build one POC with Essbase as source database. When I try to connect to ESSBASE using PowerBi provide connector , I was able to see the Cube and the dimensions under it.
First issue noticed was that we can see the dimenions like Entity, Period, Scnerio, Year with hierarchies where as I don't see Account as the hiererahcy ( Essbase developer says it should also look like Entity or other Dims)
At this point we did not load any data in the Cube, as soon as we loaded data in the cube I got another error
I am not Essbase expert soI don't know what was the issue.
I could not find much help or helpful references on Essbase PowerBi connector other than blog by Anbu.
Please shed some light.
Thanks
Suresh
I don't have an Essbase db to test with, but can you confirm you are on a very recent or even latest version of the Power BI Desktop. My understanding is the native connector (meaning, no additional software needed) was released for Power BI in the April-June 2019 timeframe and I am sure they continue to tweak it.
DAX is for Analysis. Power Query is for Data Modeling

Hi,
I could not find any help on Essbase to PowerBi issues, do we have any documentation for this from MS.
Thanks
Suresh
