Hopefully someone can help!
I keep getting this error, tho the number value will occisionally change, "Error with Data Type: We could not convert 240.44 to text". I don't want it to be text. It's a number on the Excel line (well, it's a formula that creates a number), it's formatted as currancy on the Excel and in Power BI there's a step that coverts it into fixed decimal and yet it keeps trying to change it text? I don't understand why it's doing this and I don't know how to fix it? Any help would be awesome.
Hi @smather ,
What's your Power BI Desktop version?
Please show a screenshot of the error message and a sample data.
Best regards,
Lionel Chen

Do you have any hyphen '-' or error, text value out of formula in that column in excel?
orignally when it comes through, they come through as "-" -- so I have a step in to change the - to a 0, and that's when it looks like it messes up (the error then comes through when I load the values in the cols) 😞
Hi - sorry, it seems like the issue only starts happening after I convert the "-"s to 0's, so I'm not why when it's an actual number does it then attempt to change a number back to text
