I get this error message when attempting to refresh my dataset.
Hi @alopez802 ,
The error "DMTS_OAuthTokenRefreshFailedError" in Power BI occurs due to an authentication issue, specifically related to Azure Active Directory (AAD) device registration or OAuth token refresh failure. The message "AADSTS700003: Device object was not found in the tenant" indicates that your device is not properly registered in your organization's AAD tenant, preventing Power BI from refreshing the dataset. To resolve this, start by reauthenticating your data source in Power BI Service under Settings → Manage Connections and ensure the correct authentication method is selected.
Next, verify that your device is registered in Azure Active Directory → Devices via the Azure Portal; if missing, re-register by signing out and back into your organization account. Additionally, edit and refresh credentials in Power BI under Data Source Settings to reauthorize permissions.
If you're using an on-premises data source, ensure that your Power BI Gateway is running, updated, and properly connected to the tenant. Lastly, check that your Power BI login matches your Azure AD tenant and confirm user access in Azure Active Directory → Users. After these steps, attempt to refresh the dataset again. If the issue persists, consult your Azure AD administrator to verify any security policy changes or device registration issues.
Hi @alopez802
it seems from the error that it's an oAuth token issue. Did you recently update your password? You may need to go back into settings and then update your credential token and try again.
