Error connecting to model on Power BI Service

Hi! From some weeks now i'm not able to connect to model on Power BI Service when i'm editing my reports on Power BI Desktop.

I have the older version:

My Power Bi account is the free one.

I've been using the model for almost 3 years with no issues. The user logged in is the owner of the model published online.

The reports online are updating data and reading data from the model without any problem.

The only error appears when opening the reports on Power bi desktop.

The error returned is:

When i go to Data Source Settings I can see the model but when i select it it gives me always the same error:

The model is updating daily throw a gateway on the server with a version from july.2023.

The model only connects to excel files and windows folder with excel files.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I have updated gateway version to latest and changed de edit permissions on the report that has the data model like this:

and none solved the issue.

I've tried with Power BI Desktop version of February 2024 and it worked ok, march version already gives the error. When opening power bi desktop february 2024 version it shows a message.

I will try using this version for some time hoping that microsoft solves the problem, any it maybe be.

Thanks anyway. If someone knows what the issue might be and if it's solved please let me know.

Hi @Goodwise  Can you check your credentials via edit permissions in power query? Make sure that it is not set to anonymous and change to organizational for that specific data source. or may be as you mentioned Gateway software is 2023 July, download and install the latest version Gateway from the Power BI website.

Power BI Gateway | Microsoft Power BI
