Error Message - Expressions that yield variant data type cannot be used

Hello,

I am trying to create a calculated column using 2 text variables - Date and Product.  Date has been formatted first:

Date Formatted = FORMAT ('Table'[Date],"yyyymmdd")

then create calculated column

IR= IF('Table'[Product] = "BUSINESSACCESS" && 'Table'[Date Formatted] >= "20190705",0.75,

'table'[InterestRate]
)
Error message: Expressions that yield variant data-type cannot be used to define calculated columns.
