Error Installation of Power Bi Report Builder

I have been getting an error message while installing the Power Bi report report through the UI. The error message was "Installation must be on local drive".  This error message came despite I have saved the report builder in the C drive and tried to run it from there.

I was wondering if anyone run into this same problem and found a workaround to it. I would appreciate your help on this.

My Power Bi pro license is under my work account and hence I dont have admin rights to my work PC.

Hi @powerinM ,

Based on the error message, you need administrator rights to run the installer.

Since you have not admin rights to your pc, you can refer this document about adding an admin account to your pc:

Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10 

Then you can right click the installer and run it as administrator or try to use CMD to run it, refer these articles:

@powerinM , I doubt you can install software without admin right.
