Error Code -2147217900..

Since yesterday I have this message error when I refresh the report in Power BI Desktop, it never happened to me, and I'm not able to find any information of this error in the web

It happened instantly, and also I'm able to do query's in SSMS, basically doing the query in SQL I got returned the whole table without any problem, so basically now I don't have any clue about where this issue is coming from,

So I guess that this error comes from Power BI but I can't find solutions anywhere,

Hope this message helps,

Hey Guys,

I resolved the problem reseting all the data source connections and cleaning the cache of the report,

Hope this helps to you in the future,

Regards to all

Has anyone solved this for Power BI Online?  Our Desktop version refreshes fine but when we try to refresh online with on-prem gateway for multiple EXCEL file source, we are getting following error:

  • Underlying error code-2147467259
  • Underlying error messageAccess to the path '\\ivtapjdeint02\JDE_IE\PM Dashboard\SpecialtyLeasingABR.xlsx' is denied.
  • DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingHResult-2147467259
  • Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.Detail\\ivtapjdeint02\JDE_IE\PM Dashboard\SpecialtyLeasingABR.xlsx
  • Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.ReasonDataSource.Error
  • Cluster
  • Activity IDcac77607-ea26-438c-8802-68a92b5f43ec
  • Request IDafc484ed-04ff-9842-8ea0-195d5833e90f
  • Time2022-11-30 16:11:45Z

The file that fails is different every time so I feel it is a timing issue where more than one file is trying to refresh data at once and EXCEL locks up.

Thank You,

Wild, according to this:

The error itself - according to Microsoft - means: The query uses non-ANSI outer join operators ("=" or "=") - though we can see that there are no joins in the query you're sending. Microsoft state that the fix is to either stop using non-ANSI joins, or to wind back the version number of the database to 80 or before. – CLR Jun 5 '18 at 9:27
If you're getting the error without running the SQL command, then it would suggest there is a problem with the connection string DB_CONNECT_STRING - perhaps the database is no longer compatible with it. – CLR Jun 5 '18 at 9:28
Wild, not sure I believe any of that. There is also this:
But that's 2018
