Recently had a production box failure. Had to create a new box "YYYY". How do i change "X" to "Y" without rebuilding?

This error means that the client can't find the SQL Server instance. This can happen when at least one of the following problems exists: The name of the computer hosting the SQL Server instance doesn't resolve the correct IP. The TCP port number isn't specified correctly.

Sorry I don't understand the error. When and where does this error occur? What is a production box? Do you mean to change a data source?

According to the error message, it seems the server name is not found at the data source. Can you check whether the data source information in Data source settings is consistent with the information in the data source?
