Hi All,
My requirement is to compare old data with new data . I have implemented method mentioned in below post
https://www.thebiccountant.com/2017/01/11/incremental-load-in-powerbi-using-dax-union/
This method mentions to have 2 data sets
1. Old Data with Donot Refresh setting
2. New Data with Refresh setting
and then create new table using union/Except DAX to find the changed records by using both old and new tables.
This works fine and I could detect the changes in the records.
But this will just work for one time, I would like to compare the changes on daily basis like to track daily delta changes.
In order to do this I will also have to refresh Old data once the Union table is created with changed records.
I am not sure how to achieve this, is there any mechnism/DAX/any other method that this requirement can be achieved.
Appretiate your help.
Thanks
AOD

@AOD there is no way to do it in Power BI, if your old data need to change, it means it needs to refresh, the best way is to store historical data at your data source and then compare historical data with current/up to date data.
The solution worked because you have a one-time snapshot in Power BI and clearly as soon as you refresh it, a snapshot is most recent and you cannot compare
I would ❤ Kudos if my solution helped. 👉 If you can spend time posting the question, you can also make efforts to give Kudos whoever helped to solve your problem. It is a token of appreciation!
