Can PowerBI desktop generate email notifications (through Outlook)? A use case for me would be if I have a back office team using a PowerBI dashboard to follow up on various admin requests pending a manager's approval, if the request has been sitting for too long they would click something in the dashboard that would create an email containing some general information from the dashboard about the record(s) they are following up on, and the email would be sent to the manager who has an approval action to perform.

Hi @Seankew,

No matter whether on Power BI desktop and Power BI service, this is not a supported feature currently. We cannot control a user's access to dashboard via a manager's approval/disapproval.

Is flow a cloud solution only?

We're currently limited to our own internal network, with the standard sql server side tools.
