Hi All,
Our database is Azure SQL Database and we have built all the PowerBI reports from one Azure SQL Database.
We have one connection that I can see in the data source settings of the desktop that points to the Azure SQL Database.
The Azure SQL Database is authenticated through sql authentication.
Where should I change the password of the SQL authentication so that all the reports in all workspaces using the Azure SQL Database will authenticate through the new password?
One way I can see is that on the powerBI desktop, there is an option to edit the data source setting. If I edit it in powerBI desktop for one of the reports and publish the changes back to the web, will that make sure all the reports in all workspaces will read from the new password?
As a best practice, Is there any way to set up the connection from PowerBI to Azure SQL database, so that it is much more friendly and authentication changes can be rolled over all reports in all workspaces easily?
Hello @Kausthub ,
yes, you need to change the credentials to the new password in desktop and republish to service.
It's in File->Options->Data Source Settings. Find the one for your datasource connector, edit it and choose "Edit Credentials"
