Dynamics NAV 2018 on premise - Power BI Apps \ Content Packs

Good day everyone.

We are having a fun time trying to connect PowerApps to a NAV 2018 on premises environment.

• We can now connect to the NAV server on odata from Power BI Desktop on the lan after a NAV user was used to start the Dynamics instance.
• We want to use the Dynamics Apps that are available on Powerbi.com to connect to NAV on premises, but it doesn't seem to allow the use of the data gateway.

Questions:

1. Is there a way to get the Dynamics Apps in Powerbi.com to connect to an on prem Dynamics NAV 2018 instance by mkaking use of the data gateway, and without opening firewall ports to the server.
2. If not, is there a way to get access to the Dynamics NAV 2018 apps in Power BI desktop?

All help would greatly be appreciated.

Hi @dawidvh,

#1. AFAIK, template connect pack only for dynamic online version, I don' think you can direct use it to get on premise dynamic nav datasource.

#2, You can try to use dynamics nav connector on desktop, it is based on odata feed connector.
