Dynamic tooltip

Hi, I have a page with a matrix. I have a filter that changes the metric in the matrix row, depending on what the user chooses in a slicer.

Is there a way to then depending on what the user chooses, to change the tooltip page?  I can set an individual page here, but would be awesome to be able to make the page dynamic, depending on which option the user chooses.

@StevenT Unfortunately the requested feature / option is unavailable at the moment. As a workaround you can create a single tooltip page with measures (metrics) grouped inside a field parameters. Sync the field parameter slicers between the source page and tooltip page and built a view out of it. So that whenever user changes a metric it also gets reflected in the tooltip page.

I have also submitted an Idea for Dynamic Tooltip using fx, please vote.

Hi  @StevenT ,
As Jai-Rathinavel  said, current Power BI doesn't support dynamic tooltips, but you can use Synchronized Slicer and Filed Parameter to dynamically toggle the use of measure.

First, create a filed parameter based on the measure you use

In tooltip page you can create a same slicer by using Parameter

Sync the slicer and hide the slicer on the tooltip

Final output

There is only one visualization under this method

If you want to switch between multiple visualizations, you can use a combination of buttons and bookmarks

Create a button on the original page, then a tooltip page, create different visualizations, hide unwanted objects in view->selection. And save the current state to the bookmark, and create a back button on it, because when you bind the bookmark with the button, you will jump to the current location of the bookmark

Final output

You can choose the method you want

Best regards,
Albert He

It sounds like what you are looking for is Bookmarks and Buttons.
