Dynamic filtering on page or field parameter slicer (fiscal year vs calendar)

I have a field parameter in a slicer that switches my year slicer between using fiscal year vs calendar year. Like this:

Time Period Slicer: 1. Fiscal Year 2. Calendar Year

Year slicer: When fiscal selected, shows Fiscal year title, 2021/2022, etc.

It works great. However, I need to filter the data based on date, and the filtering needs to be dynamic. I.e. when fiscal year is selected in the field parameter it needs to sort for dates only including up to the latest fiscal year (ending last spring), whereas the latest calendar year includes all dates in 2023. Prior to adding this field parameter, fiscal and calendar were divided into separate pages, both with their own binary filter columns from the date table.

Not sure how to proceed from here. I thought something with a hidden slicer would work. I made another calculated column based on the two binaries for four Date scenarios: 1) included in fiscal and calendar 2) included in only fiscal 3) included in only calendar 4) included in neither. Not sure if it could help get what I want (a dynamic page filter). Any help/hints appreciated!

My back-up plan is to create two new date tables, one calendar and one fiscal, with only the dates needed for each. And then set up the relationships from there.

@Anonymous just curious, you also have a year filter on the page, once you select which year type you want (fiscal or calendar) do you have another slicer for the year?

Correct. I have a second slicer where I show values of field parameters (Years or Fiscal Years)

I realize this is an old thread, but how did you get the second slicer to actually show the values of the columns your field parameter is toggling between? all i can get it to show is the same selected value of the fields parameter slicer

in case anyone else stumbles on this, turns out all you need to do is in your second slicer, in the field well where your parameter is, click on the drop down and select "Show values of selected field"
