Hello Power BI Community,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am currently exploring Power BI to create interactive dashboards and have encountered an interesting challenge. I am hoping to find some insights or potential workarounds from the expertise within this community.
My requirement is to have the position of one visualization (let's call it Visualization B) change dynamically based on a user's interaction with another visualization (let's call it Visualization A).
For instance, consider Visualization A is a matrix that the user can expand or de-expand. When the user de-expands the matrix by clicking the minus sign, Visualization A becomes shorter. I would like for Visualization B to then move up or down on the report page to occupy the vacant space.
In other words, I'm looking for a way to make the position of a visualization 'responsive' based on the user's interactions with another visualization. I have been using features like cross-filtering, drillthrough pages, slicers, and bookmarks to create interactive reports, but none of these seem to address this specific requirement.
Any suggestions, insights, or alternative approaches to achieve a similar outcome would be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time and assistance!
Best Regards,
Patryk
Hi @Anonymous
I'm afraid this is not possible currently. The position and size of a visualization is fixed on a page. They can be adjusted by the following properties. However, these property values cannot be affected by other factors or user interactions in the report. When you expand or de-expand a matrix visual, the size of the matrix doesn't change either. It just uses a horizontal or a vertical scroll bar to adjust the area of the data.
You can raise an idea about this requirement at Microsoft Fabric Ideas forum
