Im quit new with poweBI so i'm struggling a bit. Hope you can help me out.

For my job I want to calculate the productivity for employees based on the login they are using.

I have a table with the following content

Employee

User ID

The user ID is fixed, but the Employee assigned to this ID can be update (if someone left the job)

What I want:

If the employee that is using the User ID is changed, it needs only to be effective for data in the future, and nog for data in the past. For example:

Josh is working on UserID: USER1234, I can see in the data what this userID has done. I can calulate the productivity and so on.

Now, Josh is leaving the company, and USER1234 is now used by Britney. I want the previous transaction still be assigned to Josh, but all the future transactions to Britney (Untill it is updated again)

Is that possible?

There are a number of different approaches to this problem. The phrase you need is "slowly changing dimension". Google it and read up on it, you should then be able to pick an approach which will work for you.
