I am using Kusto as a data source and direct query as a storage mode. My query is running perfect but when I create dynamic parameter and bind that column with parameter I am getting an error : Direct query may not be used with this data source.
Find screenshot of error below
hmm..
ok, without knowing what exactly you did there :)) I can offer two more checks:
1. Check that you have the latest version of PowerBI desktop (before April this feature was in preview, maybe you didnt turn it on, but anyway better to have the latest version).
2. Check to see if the version of the data source is supported. Also maybe you have there a connection to another data source in the query that causes that, so also check that. Try to break down your scenarion so its simplest bricks to see when and if it work or breaks
Could it be you hit one of the limitations?
Have you check out this article to see? The limitations are at the bottom but always good to read it entirely. It also has a specific example with Kusto.

Hope that helps
Thanks for the reply. I have checked the limitation but it does'nt solve my issue.
Check out the April 2026 Power BI update to learn about new features.
