Dynamic Date Measure

Hi. I need to create a card that would show me the month and year selected in the date slicer. This is what I have for now as my measure:

YTD Test =

Var mm = FORMAT(SELECTEDVALUE('DATE'[Month Number]),"mmmm")

Var yy = SELECTEDVALUE('DATE'[Year])

RETURN

mm&" "&yy

The thing is, the card does not update when a different date is selected. It stays at January 2022 

regardless of which month I choose. Can anyone tell me what's wrong?
