Duplicate Rows in a Power BI Matrix

Hi

I was not sure how to look for a solution for this so apologies if there is already one available!

I have a matrix in my Power BI Desktop Document which is working quite as expected.

The Rows are being broken down fine - when this is done they will merge the individual in question so there is no repeating data on the column

Power BI - Please note that I have had to move the data into the column section as the rows will not take conditional formatting in a matrix.

This is what I am trying to achieve -

- I was wondering if there is an option like in excel like "merge and center" (as per the excel example) - or "remove repeating data" or something like that

Thanks

Karen

Hi

I can solve my solution by moving my data into the row section so the information is not repeating - see the 2 screenshots.

1.  Original one with repeating data and conditional formatting - test data

2. Moved so look is better and merged cell but conditional formatting no longer applies as Power BI does use conditional formatting on row headers in a matrix - only in values in the matrix.

So I will need to make a choice of repeating data in the matrix values with conditional formatting or merged cells in the row headers without it.

Thanks for your help.

Karen

Unfortunately I lose my conditional formatting as Power BI does not do conditional formatting on row headers on a matrix only values.

Thank you for looking at my issue and apologies if I did not explain the issue properly.

Hi @VijayP

Thanks -  I have already achieved the matrix with removing "stepped layout" layout and it is looking it correct as per the first screenshot from power bi (data blanked out) from the correctly merged rows.

I would like to remove the duplicate data from the columns in the matrix as per the mock up if possible so I was hoping to find a solution for that it possible.

Thanks

Karen

@KarenL7

You might be looking at the Excel Pivot Table Tabular View in Power BI .

Select the formatting options of Matrix and select row headers -> options-> stepped layout off
