Drill controls missing when published to server - but just for some visualizations!

Using desktop, I've created a number of workbooks and published them to our Power BI report server (local, not using cloud).  This has always worked fine, with just a few rendering differences that require a bit of re-sizing etc.  With my most recent dash, several matrix visualizations that have drill controls and functcionality when used through the desktop tool, have lost these controls when running from the server.  To be clear: most of the visualizations continue to show their drill controls and drill down functionality works fine, including several other matrix visualizations.  But not with these 3 matrix reports - with these reports, drill down can only be done using the 'Explore' feature from the server menu, providing a significantly degraded user experience.  What's going on here?

Note that I'm not using hierarchies (defined in 'Fields') in any of the matrix reports.  Rather, the "hierarchy" is defined through the fields pulled into the Rows well.  In some cases the fields are all from the same data source, and in others, the fields come from different data sources, related through the data model.  There doesn't seem to be a pattern in this regard between the reports that show drill controls and those that don't.

OK, a colleague at work resolved this for me.  For the matrix reports that didn't display the drill control, I'd turned the Visual Header setting to off.  I'd fiddled with this setting, but since it didn't seem to do anything for reports in the desktop tool, I ignored it.  However, I had clearly left the setting off for a few matrix reports and when published to the server, these reports had no drill controls - the Visual Header was off!  Seems obvious, I guess, but whatever.

Hi SethJM,

Have you updated power bi desktop and report server to the lastest version?

I’m using 2.61.5192.641, 64-bit, August 2018, which is the appropriate version of the desktop for use with a local reports server. I'm double-checking on the server side but believe that version is aligned properly.
