Does Power BI Desktop update automatically in the background?

When I look in the About page of Power BI Desktop, it says Version: 2.131.1203.0 64-bit (July 2024).

I have not updated PBI Desktop so I assume it update in the background by itself like Google Chrome?

does anyone know when it will automatically update ie if Microsoft release on the 11th August, should it update the same day or within a week?

Power BI Desktop does not update automatically in the background like Google Chrome.
But, If you installed Power BI Desktop via the Microsoft Store, it could be set to update automatically, depending on your Windows Store settings.

For MSI Installations: installed in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Desktop\

For App Store Installations: installed in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\
