Hi All,
I have been tasked to build a front end to show data from 3 different tables(tables sitting on Azure SQL DB) in single tab on Power BI dashboard.
The 3 tables are going contain 10, 15 and 17 columns respectively.
Number of records on these tables will never grow more than 300 records.
The only request is to have all 3 tables data made available in one tab – so that a button/visualization will allow the user to pick – which table data to be displayed/shown in the dashboard.
So the question that I have is

Hi, @Fraz707
If help , try the following steps:
Create three table visuals -> create three buttons->create three bookmarks -> link icons to each bookmarks -> edit the visibility status of each object in the Selection pane ,and update bookmarket
Here is a demo.
You can Ctrl + click to test the button in powber desktop.

This is a totally different problem than what I imagined before your update - thanks for the clear explanation.
In this case I would recommend using buttons and bookmarks. You can show/hide visuals and code that into bookmarks, then attach a bookmark to each button so they can select which table they want to view.

@Fraz707 ,The information you have provided is not making the problem clear to me. Can you please explain with an example.
refer, if this can help

You'll have to give us a bit more info on why they need to be in one table. As you say, if column names and numbers are different, then what is it that connects them or why/how can they all be combined?
